A Day in the Life of a Carpenter


Constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes, by performing the following duties.

Studying blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated. Verifying trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter’s level. Using levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secured.
